Google announced today the development of Google TV – an open platform that adds the power of the web to the television viewing experience, ushering in a new category of devices for the living room. Intel, Sony, and Logitech, together with Best Buy, DISH Network and Adobe, joined Google on stage to announce their support for Google TV.
Google announced the new open and free video format called WebM at Google IO yesterday. The WebM format includes VP8 – a high quality video codec, Vorbis audio codec and a container format based on Matroska media container. The video format is designed for web to deliver high quality video while efficiently adapting to the varying processing and bandwidth conditions found on broad range of web connected devices. Companies like Mozilla, Opera and Adobe are supporting the new WebM video format and they will add WebM support to their respective software platforms soon.

Vietnamese site Tinhte is on fire, first they posted video of upcoming fourth generation iPhone, then they posted video of new MacBook before it was released this Tuesday, and now the website has posted images and video of iPod touch with 2-megapixel camera.

Next Gen iPhone to Offer White Front Panel Option and iPhone on Verizon to Support Simultaneous Voice and Data
Photos posted by Taiwanese website Apple.pro show that the next gen iPhone will offer both black and white front panel options. Currently, Apple’s iPhone 3GS ship with white back option, but the front of the device has the same black glass finish as the regular black model. And, if the photos leaked today are real it will be the first time that Apple will ship a complete white iPhone model, which we are sure will be way better looking than the current patched-up white iPhone 3GS.

As rumored on the weekend, Apple updated their white MacBook to match features and performance offered by 13-inch MacBook Pro. The new MacBook offers same hardware configuration as the lower-end 13-inch MacBook Pro with 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 13-inch LED backlit screen, 2GB DDR3 RAM (in place of 4GB on Pro), 250GB hard drive, Super drive, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics and 10-hour battery.

Dupont announced that they have developed printed organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays, which can be adopted in future OLED TVs. Using proprietary DuPont Gen 3 solution OLED materials, DuPont has for the first time demonstrated a solution-based manufacturing process in which OLEDs can be cost effectively printed while delivering the necessary performance and lifetime.
Digitimes is reporting that Foxconn plans to ship 24 million units of fourth generation iPhone this year with shipments starting in June. Foxconn has been the manufacturing partner with Apple for iPhone since the original iPhone was launched in 2007. Digitimes’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Foxconn will ship 4.5 million units by end of June for fourth gen iPhone launch and rest 19.5 million units will ship in Q3 and Q4 this year.
