Apple Rumors: Next Gen iPhone Orders Placed, iPad 3 in September


Last month, we were the first to report that Apple will start production + shipping of next generation iPhone 5 this summer, while every other news site and blog was reporting that iPhone 5 was delayed. Now many tech websites are reporting that Apple will start production of iPhone 5 soon and will ship it by September. Even the highly unreliable analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray now says that Apple has placed orders for new equipment to iPhone manufacturing equipment supplier, which means Apple is setting up the production lines.

Is Toshiba’s New 4-inch 720p, 367ppi LCD Display Coming to iPhone 5?


Till now iPhone 4 has lead the pixel density war with its 327ppi (pixel per inch) Retina display. However, that is going to change now as Toshiba showcased a 367ppi display for smartphones at SID 2011. The new display is not only higher in pixel density, but also better in color reproduction (at NTSC 72%) with higher contrast ratio (1000:1) than the iPhone’s Retina display. And Toshiba claims that they can further improve the display by increasing the color gamut to 92% of NTSC and contrast ratio to 1,500:1.
