Amazon introduced the new Kindle 2 on February 9, 2009 at their press event. The new Kindle 2 is slimmer with longer battery life, faster page turns, over seven times more storage, sharper images and a new read-to-me-feature. At the time of introduction Amazon said that Kindle 2 would start shipping on February 24, 2009, but Amazon is now showing the Kindle 2 “In-Stock”. And, if last Kindle launch is any indication it will very soon go in backorder status. So if you are planning to buy the new Kindle 2 go ahead and order it as soon as possible. Kindle 2 is available on Amazon for $359.00
