Pentax today officially announced the new mid level digital SLR K-7 that will compete with Canon 50D and Nikon D300. The K-7 will have 14.6-megapixel CMOS sensor, magnesium alloy body, 5.2 fps continuous shooting mode, 11-point autofocus, 720p video recording and 3-inch LCD screen. Pentax claims that the body of K-7 is smaller than any other camera in its class and the optical viewfinder has nearly 100 percent field of view.
