LG today revealed that it has started mass production of 17-inch notebook displays with RGB LED backlighting. LG claims that the new displays are truly color-accurate and they will reproduce up to 105 percent of color gamut. That’s 40 percent more than a typical notebook display with fluorescent backlight available today. The new LCD will have WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution and will boast contrast ratio by at least 30 percent compared to a typical notebook LCD.
