HP today showed the first laptop based on Intel’s upcoming quad-core mobile processor at SIGGRAPH expo. The new 17-inch EliteBook 8730w will have option of 2.53GHz Core 2 Extreme processor with 12MB level 2 Cache. As the processor is designed for laptops and is not a desktop part, the battery life and size (thickness) of the laptop will not be affected.
